First you can follow the developments, ask questions, and contribute feedback using the Mailing Lists. Even if it's only to let us know that you like the idea, that you have seen another project which is far more ambitious than Xooctory or that you think we are crazy (yes we are! :-)), join the mailing list, any opinion is welcome.You can also get involved by submitting issues, or commenting on existing ones, it's a good way to give organized feedback on the project.
Writing an article, posting on your blog, writing documentation is also very much appreciated, especially if it's not a rant :-)
Then if you feel comfortable with Java and like coding, check the Developer's doc, and feel free to contribute patches. But make sure to provide also unit tests for any non trivial modification, it will increase the chance to see it applied to our code base.
